Transporting your car to Southern Europe: how it works

Moving a car between the Netherlands and Southern Europe usually comes down to two worlds: a trailer where your car travels with ten others, or someone who drives it personally. At Monarch Drive we do the latter — what we call Drive-it-Back. One dedicated driver collects your car and takes it straight to its destination, with no depot stopovers and no waiting.

What the trip involves

You hand the car over (or we collect it), and the same person drives it from start to finish. You receive daily updates along the way. On arrival we hand over the key in person and document the car's condition — just as we did at departure. So you know exactly the state your car was in when the journey began and ended.

Insurance en route

Your own car insurance (third-party, partial or fully comprehensive) remains primary, whoever is driving, provided they hold a valid licence. We advise briefly notifying your insurer beforehand. Every trip is also captured in a signed transport agreement, so the terms are in writing.

What does it cost?

The price is a fixed driver fee plus travel expenses (fuel, tolls, a flight back and possibly a night's stay) — those expenses are always charged 1-to-1, never with a markup. A one-way trip to southern Spain is indicatively around €1,150–2,100; a return (combi) is cheaper per kilometre. Every route page calculates an instant estimate for your destination.
