What does it cost to have your car driven to Southern Europe?

Many personal car-transport providers deliberately keep their pricing vague — 'contact us for a quote'. We prefer the opposite. Every route page calculates an instant estimate, and below we explain precisely what it's made of. All amounts are excluding VAT.

The price has two parts

A trip has just two line items for us: a fixed driver fee for the driving itself, and the travel expenses to get there and back. That's it — no markup percentages, no hidden surcharges.

1. The driver fee

The driver fee is a fixed amount for the person who drives your car. For a one-way trip it sits between €650 and €800, depending on the number of driving days (a long run to southern Spain or Portugal takes two days rather than one). This is the only part we actually earn on; it's fixed in advance, so there are no surprises.

2. Travel expenses — always 1-to-1

On top of that you pay the real travel expenses: fuel, tolls, a flight ticket for the return, and possibly a night's stay en route. These are passed on without any markup — what it costs is what it costs. On a return where we drive your car out and another car back (the 'combi'), the flight ticket falls away and two trips share the costs, which brings the price per kilometre down considerably.

One-way or return (combi)?

A one-way trip to Southern Europe is indicatively around €1,150–2,100, depending on distance. A return is cheaper per kilometre, especially when we combine the way back with another job. A concrete example

A combi return Haarlem⇄Málaga for a mid-range car comes to around €3,590 — that includes both trips, all fuel, tolls and overnight stays. A one-way trip to the same destination is around €1,840. These aren't made-up guide prices: our calculation model is calibrated on real quotes we've issued.

Why we do it this way

Because you have the right to know where you stand in advance. A trailer is cheaper (€750–1,250), but slow and impersonal. A personal drive costs more, but you know exactly what you're paying for: one dedicated driver, your own car, and a price you can check yourself.
