Chauffeur services
Private chauffeur in Breda
Not a taxi and not a fleet: I drive your car through Breda — from the Grote Markt to Breepark, and especially on the days when there is no getting through.
A dedicated driver based in the Utrecht region. I work without a fleet of my own — you travel in your own, familiar car and I handle the drive.
What you use me for
- Business trips and appointments in and around Breda
- Driven to Schiphol or Eindhoven Airport, with your car back home
- Representative occasions, dinners and events
- A dedicated driver on fixed days, by arrangement
How it works
- 1
You share the date, time and route — you get a fixed rate and confirmed availability up front, no loose ends.
- 2
I come to you on time and drive you in your own car: discreet, punctual and one familiar face instead of rotating drivers.
- 3
Expenses (parking, tolls, fuel) are calculated up front and included in the price — transparent, with no surprises afterwards.
What this actually is
Your own car, in a city built around two squares
First, what it is not: not a taxi, not a coach and not a fleet. I come to you, get into the car you already own and drive you where you need to be. You sit in the back of your own vehicle, and at the end of the day that car is back where it belongs.
Breda is compact in a way you only notice when you want to be there by car. Its social and business life concentrates around the Grote Markt and the Havermarkt, two squares within walking distance of each other where a car simply does not go. The Chassé Theater sits at the edge of that area; Breepark and the Rat Verlegh Stadion sit outside the city altogether. Anyone doing both sides in a day drives round the city twice.
And then there are the days when the centre stops existing as a traffic area at all: carnival, when Breda goes by the name Kielegat, and the Breda Jazz Festival, which has been drawing a quarter of a million people to those same squares for four days a year since 1971. Those are exactly the moments when someone who drops you at the door is worth more than a parking space.
When this works
Four situations where it earns its keep
Breda comes down to two squares you cannot reach, and a handful of days when the whole city is standing on them.
The Breda Jazz Festival
Four days from Ascension Day through the Sunday after, free to attend, with around two hundred and fifty thousand visitors and stages across the whole centre, the Chassé Theater among them. It is one of the oldest jazz festivals in the country, and on those days the centre is no place for a car. I drop you where I can and come back when you call.
Carnival in Kielegat
In February or March depending on the calendar, Breda turns into Kielegat and the centre is open for days to everyone except cars. Anyone who has to get home in the evening gets nothing from an app. I bring you and your car home safely, with no evening surcharge.
An evening on the Grote Markt or at the Chassé
Dinner on the Grote Markt or the Havermarkt, a performance at the Chassé Theater on the Claudius Prinsenlaan, or a concert at Breepark. Three places, three parking stories. With me you step out at the entrance and back in afterwards.
Business in Breda, living in the Randstad
From Utrecht it is about an hour down the A27. That is an hour to go through your papers in the back of your own car — and at the end of the day you do not have to drive that road again.
How a day runs
From your driveway to the last appointment
I plan a Breda day around whether you need to be inside or outside the canal ring, and around the calendar: carnival and the jazz festival run by different rules from the rest of the year.
- 01
Collection wherever you are
A quarter of an hour before the appointment
At home, at the office or at Breda Centraal. I am there well before the agreed time. Tell me which addresses sit inside the canal ring and which are out at Breepark or the stadium, and I will order them so you are not driving round the city twice.
- 02
The drive to Breda
From Utrecht ± 60 min
Down the A27 past Gorinchem. In the morning and evening peak that climbs, with the bridge at Gorinchem as the point where it seizes. In those hours I build in margin rather than hoping for the best.
- 03
Around the Grote Markt
Where you can and cannot go
The Grote Markt and the Havermarkt are low-traffic and the area around them is largely one-way. I work out in advance how far I can drive and where the nearest point is to let you out, so you are not walking from a garage on the canal ring.
- 04
Out to Breepark or the stadium
Outside the city
Breepark and the Rat Verlegh Stadion sit on the edge and on an event day are reachable only by whatever approach the event sets. I check in advance how access is arranged that day rather than running into it.
- 05
Back to your own driveway
End of the day
After the last appointment I take you home and leave the car where it belongs. If you left earlier by train, I still drive the car back and send a message with a photograph once it is parked.
Practical points
What it costs
The rate is € 40 per hour excl. VAT with a three-hour minimum; from eight hours a day rate of € 300 applies. Breda is about an hour from my base in the Utrecht region, so that approach time is in the quote. Across a full day it disappears into the day rate; on one short run you notice it. Ask, and I will work it out for you.
Recurring events
Two moments to book well ahead for. The Breda Jazz Festival has run since 1971, four days from Ascension Day, free to attend, drawing some two hundred and fifty thousand visitors into the centre. Carnival falls in February or March depending on the church calendar, and then the city is called Kielegat. There are also the Breda Marathon, Cultuurnacht and the Christmas market. On those days the closures and the car parks are not where they normally are.
I check environmental zones per city
The rules differ by municipality and they change. If you drive an older diesel and are also going to Utrecht, Amsterdam, The Hague or Rotterdam that day, give me the registration when booking. I will check it city by city rather than us finding out at a camera that it was not allowed.
Insurance
I drive under your own policy, like any driver with your permission. Check once that there is no age or named-driver restriction on it; with almost every Dutch policy this is not an issue. If you are unsure, send the policy sheet along and I will look at it with you.
Discretion
What is discussed in the car stays in the car. One familiar face who knows your route and your preferences, rather than a different driver every time.
Rate
All rates shown are excl. VAT — this page is aimed at business clients. If you are a private customer, 21% VAT is added: €48.40 per hour instead of €40.

Frequently asked
What people want to know beforehand
Yes, and it is one of the few moments when it genuinely matters. The festival runs four days from Ascension Day and draws around two hundred and fifty thousand people into the centre. Book well ahead: on those days I plan the approach and the drop-off point differently.
Yes. Carnival falls in February or March depending on the church calendar, and then the centre is no place for a car for days. Please book well ahead for that too.
Yes. The Chassé Theater is on the Claudius Prinsenlaan at the edge of the centre; Breepark is outside the city. On an event day access is set by the event rather than the usual route, and I check that in advance.
Environmental zone rules differ by municipality and they change. Give me the registration when booking, along with the cities you are visiting that day, and I will check it city by city rather than us discovering it at a camera.
No, deliberately not. I drive the car you already own. You sit in your own vehicle and at the end of the day it is back at your house.
Yes. The minimum is three hours at € 40 per hour, excl. VAT. From eight hours the € 300 day rate becomes cheaper, and with Breda that point often comes sooner because of the travel time.
Yes, with no surcharge. An evening on the Grote Markt or a performance at the Chassé with a safe drive home afterwards is exactly what people call for.
