Chauffeur services
Private chauffeur in Hilversum
Not a taxi and not a fleet: I drive your car through Hilversum and het Gooi — and at the Media Park, being on time is not a preference but a studio slot.
A dedicated driver based in the Utrecht region. I work without a fleet of my own — you travel in your own, familiar car and I handle the drive.
What you use me for
- Business trips and appointments in and around Hilversum
- Driven to Schiphol or Eindhoven Airport, with your car back home
- Representative occasions, dinners and events
- A dedicated driver on fixed days, by arrangement
How it works
- 1
You share the date, time and route — you get a fixed rate and confirmed availability up front, no loose ends.
- 2
I come to you on time and drive you in your own car: discreet, punctual and one familiar face instead of rotating drivers.
- 3
Expenses (parking, tolls, fuel) are calculated up front and included in the price — transparent, with no surprises afterwards.
What this actually is
Your own car, in a town that works to the clock
First, what it is not: not a taxi, not a hire car with a driver and not a fleet. I come to you, get behind the wheel of the car you already own and drive you where you need to be. You sit in the back of your own vehicle, and at the end of the day that car is back where it belongs.
Hilversum is a small town with an unusual working rhythm. At the Media Park, broadcasters, production companies and studios sit side by side, and an appointment there is rarely just an appointment: it is a recording slot, a broadcast or a live moment. Fifteen minutes late is not inconvenient there but expensive, which is exactly why a driver makes more sense here than in a city where you can simply join late.
Around it lies het Gooi: Laren, Blaricum, Naarden, Bussum. Fifteen-minute journeys that double in the peak on the A1 and the A27. For me this is close to home — Hilversum is about thirty kilometres from my base in the Utrecht region, so approach time weighs lightly here.
When this works
Four situations where it earns its keep
Hilversum is about arriving at a time that will not move, and about a day that does not happen in one building.
A recording or broadcast at the Media Park
A studio slot does not shift. You do not want to spend the last ten minutes before your recording hunting for a space on a site where the barriers work by name. I drop you at the right entrance and sort out where the car goes afterwards.
A day across het Gooi
A meeting in Hilversum, then something in Laren or Naarden, and back in the afternoon. On paper that is nothing; in the peak on the A1 it is half a day. With me that is time in which you can call and prepare instead of driving.
Guests you are driving around
A guest for a programme, a contact you want collected from the station or Schiphol, or a visitor who has to see Beeld & Geluid and two production companies in one day. One familiar face, your own car, and you join only when the conversation starts.
An evening at Gooiland or Beeld & Geluid
A performance at Gooiland, a corporate evening at Beeld & Geluid — the building whose glass facade carries eleven hundred stills from Dutch television, and which hires out rooms for fifteen to fifteen hundred people. On such an evening the car park fills and empties all at once. I drop you at the door and come back when you call.
How a day runs
From your driveway to the last appointment
I plan a Hilversum day backwards from the moment that cannot move — usually a studio slot or a broadcast.
- 01
Collection wherever you are
A quarter of an hour before the appointment
At home, at the office or at Hilversum Centraal. I am there well before the agreed time. Tell me which moment is fixed and I will work the rest of the day around it.
- 02
The drive to Hilversum
From Utrecht ± 30 min
Via the A27 and the A1, or the N417 when it is quiet. The A1 towards Amsterdam is where morning travel time doubles. In those hours I build in margin; with a studio slot, arriving early is no problem and arriving late is.
- 03
At the Media Park
Access by name
The Media Park is not a public site: access and parking run through registration and per-building barriers. I work out in advance which entrance you need, so you are not at the wrong gate while your recording starts.
- 04
Waiting or coming back
Between two appointments
If your recording takes an hour, I stay nearby. If it takes half a day, we agree that I leave and return, so you are not paying for hours in which I do nothing. From eight hours the € 300 day rate is better value.
- 05
Back to your own driveway
End of the day
After the last appointment I take you home and leave the car where it belongs. If you left earlier by train, I still drive the car back and send a message with a photograph once it is parked.
Practical points
What it costs
The rate is € 40 per hour excl. VAT with a three-hour minimum; from eight hours a day rate of € 300 applies. Hilversum is about thirty kilometres from my base, so approach time weighs lightly here — more lightly than for Eindhoven or Breda.
No environmental zone
Hilversum has no environmental zone for passenger cars; your car may go anywhere in town. If you are driving on to Utrecht or Amsterdam that day it is different — with an older diesel, give me the registration and I will check it city by city.
Recurring events
Dutch Media Week is the largest media festival in the Netherlands and revolves around Beeld & Geluid and the Media Park, with studio tours and public access to a site normally open by appointment only. During that week the Media Park is busier than its parking can absorb. The dates move between editions, so I deliberately do not quote one here — when you book I check the current calendar.
Insurance
I drive under your own policy, like any driver with your permission. Check once that there is no age or named-driver restriction on it; with almost every Dutch policy this is not an issue. If you are unsure, send the policy sheet along and I will look at it with you.
Discretion
What is discussed in the car stays in the car. In this town that is not a throwaway line: a good deal of what gets discussed on the back seat has not been broadcast yet.

Frequently asked
What people want to know beforehand
Yes. The Media Park is not a public site — access and parking run through registration and per-building barriers. Tell me which building you need when booking and I will work out the right entrance in advance.
Then I wait. The first fifteen minutes of waiting are free, after which a waiting rate applies. If it structurally runs longer, a € 300 day rate is often better value and I will say so.
No, not for passenger cars. Your car may go anywhere in town. If you are going on to Utrecht or Amsterdam that day, give me the registration for an older diesel — there the rules do apply.
Yes, the whole of het Gooi. Those places are close together but the link runs via the A1, and at certain hours that governs the entire day's planning. Give me the addresses and I will order them so you are not going back and forth.
No, deliberately not. I drive the car you already own. You sit in your own vehicle and at the end of the day it is back at your house.
Yes. The minimum is three hours at € 40 per hour, excl. VAT. From eight hours the € 300 day rate becomes cheaper, and I will say so when that applies.
Yes, with no surcharge. Breakfast programmes start early, and that is exactly when there is no train that gets you to the studio on time.
