What this actually is
Your own car, from the Beatrixkwartier to Scheveningen
To begin with what it is not: not a taxi, not a coach and not a fleet. I come to you, get into the car you already own and drive you where you need to be. You sit in the back of your own vehicle, and at the end of the day that car is back where it belongs.
The Hague is a city of appointments at fixed addresses: ministries and institutions around the Binnenhof, offices in the Beatrixkwartier, international organisations towards the Statenkwartier, and Scheveningen on the other side. Doing several of those in a day is not far in kilometres, but you keep ending up somewhere parking is expensive and scarce, € 7.15 an hour in the centre.
And there is something you need to know in advance that differs by city: The Hague has an environmental zone that does apply to passenger cars. If you drive a diesel, it must be Euro 4 as a minimum to enter the centre. Petrol, LPG and electric are always allowed. That is more relaxed than Utrecht and stricter than Rotterdam, so it really is a city-by-city question.

Four situations where it earns its keep
In The Hague it is rarely about distance. It is about arriving at an address where you cannot simply stand, and about the hours between two conversations.
A day among institutions and offices
A meeting at a ministry, then the Beatrixkwartier, then something in the Statenkwartier. Driving yourself, each move costs half an hour of driving and looking for a space. With me you step out at the door and back in at the door.
The drive where you want to keep working
From Utrecht it is about an hour, longer in the peak. That is an hour to go through your papers or make calls, in the back of your own car, with your laptop beside you, instead of sitting on the A12 at Zoetermeer.
Scheveningen, in and out of season
A show at the AFAS Circustheater, an evening at the Kurhaus or on the boulevard, a concert at the Paard, or dinner on the Grote Markt and the Plein after a day at the Binnenhof. In summer parking at Scheveningen is a story in itself; in winter it is mostly a long walk into the wind. I drop you at the entrance and collect you when you call.

A quarter of an hour before the appointment
At home, at the office or at Den Haag Centraal. I am there well before the agreed time so getting in is never a rush. Tell me which appointments are fixed and which can shift; I plan the order around that.

From Utrecht ± 60 min, longer in the peak
Via the A12, which is exactly the stretch where the morning peak at Zoetermeer and the Prins Clausplein eats time. In those hours I build in extra rather than hoping for the best: arriving early costs you nothing, arriving late does.

Where this pays for itself
At many offices and institutions in The Hague, stopping at the door briefly is allowed and parking is not. I drop you, drive on and come back when you call. That is precisely the difference from driving yourself, where you end up five minutes' walk away with a meter running.

Scheveningen
From the centre to the boulevard is a quarter of an hour without traffic and double that on a summer evening. For an appointment by the sea I build in that margin and find the parking space while you are already inside.

End of the day
After the last appointment I take you home and leave the car where it belongs. If you left earlier by train, I still drive the car back and send a message with a photograph once it is parked.
Practical points
What it costs
The rate is € 40 per hour excl. VAT with a three-hour minimum; from eight hours a day rate of € 300 applies. Parking costs are calculated in advance and included in the quote, so there is no supplementary bill afterwards.
The environmental zone: only an issue with diesel
The centre of The Hague has an environmental zone for diesel passenger cars: Euro 4 as a minimum. Petrol, LPG and electric cars are always allowed. The harbour area at Scheveningen has a separate zone for diesels. Cars forty years or older are automatically exempt. If you drive an older diesel, give me the registration when booking.
The 2026 warning period
Since 1 January 2026 a breach of the environmental zone brings a warning rather than a fine for at least four months; fines follow after that. I do not assume you are inside that window. I check the registration in advance, so nobody has to rely on a warning.
The zero-emission zone does not apply to your car
From 2026 The Hague has a zero-emission zone in the centre and on the coast, but it exists for vans and lorries. Passenger cars do not fall under it. This is often confused with the environmental zone above.
Recurring events
Prinsjesdag, every third Tuesday in September, brings the whole centre to a halt: closures around the Binnenhof, diversions and no space to be found. There are also Parkpop in the Zuiderpark, Vlaggetjesdag at Scheveningen and the beach season running along the coast all summer. On those days I check the closures in advance rather than running into them.
Insurance
I drive under your own policy, like any driver with your permission. Check once that there is no age or named-driver restriction on it; with almost every Dutch policy this is not an issue. If you are unsure, send the policy sheet along and I will look at it with you before anything is agreed.
Rate
All rates shown are excl. VAT. This page is aimed at business clients. If you are a private customer, 21% VAT is added: €48.40 per hour instead of €40.
