Utrecht — Private chauffeur in Utrecht

Chauffeur services

Private chauffeur in Utrecht

Not a taxi and not a fleet: I drive your car through Utrecht. This is my home base, so it is the fastest and the cheapest city to book me in.

A dedicated driver based in the Utrecht region. I work without a fleet of my own. You travel in your own, familiar car and I handle the drive.

What you use me for

  • Business trips and a full agenda of appointments across the Randstad
  • Driven to Schiphol or Eindhoven Airport, with your car back at home
  • Evenings out, dinners and representative occasions without parking stress
  • A dedicated driver on fixed days, by arrangement

How it works

  1. 1

You share the date, time and route. You get a fixed rate and confirmed availability up front, no loose ends.

  2. 2

I come to you on time and drive you in your own car: discreet, punctual and one familiar face instead of rotating drivers.

  3. 3

Expenses (parking, tolls, fuel) are calculated up front and included in the price, transparent, with no surprises afterwards.

What this actually is

Your own car, driven by someone who lives here

First, what it is not: not a taxi, not a hire car with a driver and not a fleet. I come to you, get behind the wheel of the car you already own and drive you where you need to be. You sit in the back of your own vehicle, and at the end of the day that car is back where it belongs.

Utrecht is my home base, and you notice that in two ways. Practically: there is no hour of approach time in the quote, so half a day in Utrecht costs less than the same half day in Eindhoven. And substantively: I know which route seizes up at four in the afternoon, where you can actually be dropped at the Jaarbeurs, and that the Utrecht Science Park is a different proposition by car than by tram.

Then the cost. Street parking in the city centre stands at € 8.01 an hour in 2026, after Amsterdam the most expensive in the Netherlands, which surprises people who think of Utrecht as a mid-sized city. The real loss, though, is not that amount but the quarter of an hour before you are parked at all.

When this works

Four situations where it earns its keep

Nobody in Utrecht hires a chauffeur for show. It is about a city centre that is awkward by car, and about hours you would rather spend differently.

Into the centre without the parking problem

An appointment on the Oudegracht or the Janskerkhof means searching, paying and walking back, at € 8.01 an hour. I drop you at the door and find a space afterwards. That is the whole difference: you are not walking back from a garage at the edge of the canal ring.

Jaarbeurs and the station district

A trade fair or congress means arriving among a thousand others looking for a space at the same moment. I drop you at the entrance and collect you when you call, instead of you queuing at half past five to get out of the car park.

The drive where you want to keep working

From Utrecht almost the whole country is within an hour and a half. That makes this the logical city to set out from towards a client in Zwolle, Breda or Arnhem, with you in the back of your own car, working, instead of sitting on the A12 yourself.

An evening in the city

A concert at TivoliVredenburg, a show at the Stadsschouwburg, or eating and drinking on the Lijnmarkt, the Neude or along the Oudegracht, with the Dom as the place everyone arranges to meet and nobody can park. That is exactly where stopping at the door makes the whole difference. I drive you in, wait or come back, and bring you and your car home. No evening surcharge.

How a day runs

From your driveway to the last appointment

Because I am from here, a Utrecht day starts differently from a day elsewhere: there is no travel time towards you on the bill before we begin.

  1. 01

    Collection wherever you are

A quarter of an hour before the appointment

At home, at the office or at the station. I am there well before the agreed time. Because I am based in the region, an appointment here can often still happen the same day, for other cities I ask for a day's notice.

  2. 02

    Into the city

    Inside the canal ring

The Utrecht centre is largely one-way and in many places reachable only via the canal ring. Anyone who does not know it drives round it twice. I plan the approach on the side of the city you need to be on, not on what the navigation offers as shortest.

  3. 03

    Stepping out at the door

    No hunting for a space

I drop you where you need to be and sort out where the car goes afterwards. For an hour-long appointment I stay nearby; if it runs longer I park and come back when you call.

  4. 04

    On to the next appointment

    Waiting or driving on

If your appointment takes an hour, I wait. If it takes half a day, we agree that I leave and return, so you are not paying for hours in which I do nothing. From eight hours the € 300 day rate is better value, and I will say so.

  5. 05

    Back to your own driveway

    End of the day

After the last appointment I take you home and leave the car where it belongs. If you left earlier by train, I still drive the car back and send a message with a photograph once it is parked.

Practical points

What it costs, and why Utrecht is cheaper

The rate is € 40 per hour excl. VAT with a three-hour minimum; from eight hours a day rate of € 300 applies. In other cities the travel time to your door is in the quote. Here it is barely there, because I come from the region. That makes Utrecht the cheapest city on this site to book me in.

The environmental zone: here there are rules

Utrecht has an environmental zone that does apply to passenger cars, and it is stricter than in most cities. A diesel needs emission class 5 as a minimum; classes 0 to 4 are refused. The zone sits inside the ring around the centre. Cars forty years or older are exempt. If you drive an older diesel, give me the registration when booking and I will check it in advance.

Parking

Street parking in the centre is € 8.01 an hour in 2026, after Amsterdam the most expensive in the country. Those costs are calculated in advance and included in the quote, so there is no supplementary bill afterwards and no invoice for a fine I should have avoided.

Recurring events

The Jaarbeurs runs trade fairs and congresses all year, and that is exactly when the whole station side of the city seizes up. The Nederlands Film Festival takes over the centre every autumn, and King's Day is the day the canal ring is closed. On a fair day I drop you at the entrance rather than leaving you queuing at half past five to get out of the car park.

Insurance

I drive under your own policy, like any driver with your permission. Check once that there is no age or named-driver restriction on it; with almost every Dutch policy this is not an issue. If you are unsure, send the policy sheet along and I will look at it with you before anything is agreed.

Discretion

What is discussed in the car stays in the car. That is why people hire me instead of calling a different taxi each time: one familiar face who knows your route and your preferences.

Rate

All rates shown are excl. VAT. This page is aimed at business clients. If you are a private customer, 21% VAT is added: €48.40 per hour instead of €40.

Frequently asked

What people want to know beforehand

Only with emission class 5 or higher. Diesels in classes 0 to 4 are refused inside the ring around the centre. Cars forty years or older are exempt. If you are unsure, give me the registration when booking. I will check it in advance rather than us finding out on the day.

Yes. The hourly rate is the same everywhere, but in other cities the travel time to your door goes into the quote and here it barely does. I am based in the Utrecht region.

No, deliberately not. I drive the car you already own. You sit in your own vehicle, with your own things, and at the end of the day that car is back at your house.

In Utrecht and the immediate area, often yes, precisely because I am here. For the other cities I would rather have a day's notice. Calling costs you nothing, if it will not work, I will say so straight away.

Wait nearby, or park the car and come back when called. If your appointment runs to several hours we agree that I leave and return.

Yes. The minimum is three hours at € 40 per hour, excl. VAT. From eight hours the € 300 day rate becomes cheaper, and I will say so.

Yes, with no surcharge. An evening in the centre with a safe drive home afterwards is one of the runs I am called for most often.
