Chauffeur services
Private chauffeur in Rotterdam
Not a taxi and not a shuttle van: I drive your car through Rotterdam — office to port to appointment — while you work in the back.
A dedicated driver based in the Utrecht region. I work without a fleet of my own. You travel in your own, familiar car and I handle the drive.
What you use me for
- Business trips to offices, the port and client locations
- Driven to Schiphol or Rotterdam The Hague, with your car back home
- Multi-day or full programmes across the region
- Representative trips and business dinners
How it works
- 1
You share the date, time and route. You get a fixed rate and confirmed availability up front, no loose ends.
- 2
I come to you on time and drive you in your own car: discreet, punctual and one familiar face instead of rotating drivers.
- 3
Expenses (parking, tolls, fuel) are calculated up front and included in the price, transparent, with no surprises afterwards.
What this actually is
Your own car, from the Kop van Zuid to the Waalhaven
To begin with what it is not: not a taxi, not a coach and not a fleet. I come to you, get into the car you already own and drive you where you need to be. You sit in the back of your own vehicle, and at the end of the day that car is back where it belongs.
Rotterdam is a working city and you feel that in the distances inside it. An appointment on the Kop van Zuid followed by one at the Waalhaven is nothing as the crow flies, but with the Maastunnel or the Erasmusbrug in between it can easily become half an hour. Do that three times in a day and you spend more time moving than talking.
Then the parking, which here comes in layers: € 6.42 an hour in the centre, € 3.20 in the districts around it and € 2.24 further out. Paid parking runs until eleven at night, and until one in the morning in the centre on Fridays and Saturdays. Cheaper than Amsterdam, but it adds up, and above all it costs you time exactly when you have least of it.
When this works
Four situations where it earns its keep
Nobody in Rotterdam hires a chauffeur for show. It is about the hours between appointments and arriving without fuss.
A day along the port
Office in the centre, a terminal on the Maasvlakte, back for an appointment on the Kop van Zuid. That is an hour and a half of driving in one day, plus parking in three places. With me that is an hour and a half in which you can call and prepare instead of sitting on the A15 yourself.
The drive where you want to keep working
From Utrecht it is about an hour to Rotterdam, longer in the peak. That is an hour to go through your papers, make calls or do nothing, in the back of your own car, with your laptop beside you rather than on your knees on a train.
An evening in the city
A concert at Ahoy, a match at De Kuip, a performance at De Doelen or the Luxor, or an evening on the Witte de Withstraat and the Kop van Zuid. Around Ahoy and De Kuip everything jams solid afterwards and parking is pushed out to remote sites. I drop you at the entrance and collect you when you call; in the centre paid parking runs until one in the morning on Fridays and Saturdays, and I deal with that.
Collecting contacts from Schiphol or Rotterdam The Hague
A guest landing whom you want driven to the office or hotel in your own car, without you making the round trip twice. One familiar face, your own vehicle, and you join only when the conversation starts.
How a day runs
From your driveway to the last appointment
I plan a Rotterdam day around the river crossings, because they govern the travel time far more than the kilometres do.
- 01
Collection wherever you are
A quarter of an hour before the appointment
At home, at the office or at Rotterdam Centraal. I am there well before the agreed time so getting in is never a rush. Tell me which appointments are fixed and which can shift; I plan the order around that.
- 02
The drive into the city
From Utrecht ± 60 min, longer in the peak
Via the A12 and the A20, or the A15 if the port is the target. The Gouwe and Terbregseplein junctions are where morning travel time doubles. In those hours I build in extra time rather than hoping for the best.
- 03
Across the river
Maastunnel or Erasmusbrug
North and south are two separate worlds in Rotterdam the moment it gets busy. An appointment on the Kop van Zuid followed by one at the Waalhaven means crossing the river, and that is where a tight schedule breaks. It is the first thing I look at when planning.
- 04
Stepping out at the door
No hunting for a space
I drop you where you need to be and find a space afterwards, or stay nearby if it is short. In the centre that is the difference between € 6.42 an hour with a clock running and simply getting out at the entrance.
- 05
Back to your own driveway
End of the day
After the last appointment I take you home and leave the car where it belongs. If you left earlier yourself, I still drive the car back and send a message with a photograph once it is parked.
Practical points
What it costs
The rate is € 40 per hour excl. VAT with a three-hour minimum; from eight hours a day rate of € 300 applies. Parking and tolls are calculated in advance and included in the quote, so there is no supplementary bill afterwards. Do ask about your particular day. I would rather work it out than leave you estimating.
The environmental zone: there isn't one, for your car
This is often misunderstood, so to be clear: Rotterdam no longer has an environmental zone for passenger cars. Your car may go anywhere in the city, including an older diesel. The zero-emission zone that began on 1 January 2025 applies only to vans and lorries, not to passenger cars. Freight traffic on the Maasvlakte does have its own rules.
Parking until late
Paid parking in Rotterdam runs until eleven at night, and until one in the morning in the centre on Fridays and Saturdays. That is exactly when you are there for dinner or a performance. It is in the price; you do not have to think about it that evening.
Recurring events
Ahoy and De Kuip account for most of the busy evenings in this city. North Sea Jazz in July and the ABN AMRO tennis tournament in February each draw tens of thousands to Ahoy, and there are also the Rotterdam Marathon in spring, the Zomercarnaval and the Wereldhavendagen in September. On those days whole streets are closed and parking is pushed out to remote sites; I plan the approach around that.
Insurance
I drive under your own policy, like any driver with your permission. Check once that there is no age or named-driver restriction on it; with almost every Dutch policy this is not an issue. If you are unsure, send the policy sheet along and I will look at it with you before anything is agreed.
Discretion
What is discussed in the car stays in the car. That is why people hire me instead of calling a different taxi each time: one familiar face who knows the route and your preferences.

All rates shown are excl. VAT. This page is aimed at business clients. If you are a private customer, 21% VAT is added: €48.40 per hour instead of €40.

Wait nearby, or park the car and come back when called. If your appointment runs to several hours we agree that I leave and return, so you are not paying for hours in which I do nothing.
Yes. From the centre allow three quarters of an hour to an hour one way, depending on the time and the terminal. Tell me which terminal when booking and I will plan the day around it.
Yes. The minimum is three hours at € 40 per hour, excl. VAT. From eight hours the € 300 day rate becomes cheaper, and I will say so.
Yes. I set out from the Utrecht region; the travel time to your door is in the quote, so you know in advance what the day costs.
